Design Inspirations

Once thought of as edgy and urban, grey is now at the forefront of home design.  A perfectly versatile neutral grey beautifully coordinates with just about any accent color. Here at Capel, grey reigns supreme in a multitude of constructions and color palettes.

Pale shades such as silver, heather and mist have a subtle shimmer and when combined with mirror, crystal and glass are instantly glamorous and sophisticated. Check out our new ‘Zanzibar’ in mink (by my uber cool pal Kevin O’Brien) shown below….this collection is hand tufted in wool with a little viscose added for that glamour (OK, bling) that I mentioned earlier.

Mid grey tones such as mushroom, flannel and fog are chic and polished and are often represented in men’s suiting fabrics. Notably warmer in appearance these tones partner perfectly with brown creating a masculine elegance. Our new ‘Arrondelle’ collection in nickel (designed in conjunction with our friends at Biltmore™) offers two classic architecture-inspired motifs represented in modern form. Handsome doesn’t even begin to cover it.
