Capel Rugs debuted more than a dozen new collections in a variety of constructions and colorways during the October High Point Market. Showroom visitors experienced new products featuring all facets of the design spectrum – from fashion-forward braids and value-priced, hand tufted rugs to vintage hand knots and Moroccan inspirations.
“We had a very successful market,” said Allen Robertson, vice president of sales for Capel Rugs. “Retailers were shopping for fresh designs and effective merchandising ideas, and we made it our mission to deliver what they need to spark new business heading into 2014.”
The biggest hit during market was the debut of our new collection from Hable Construction. The exclusive rugs for children and adults were created in collaboration with Susan Hable Smith and Katharine Hable Sweeney. Hableland includes six 100% wool, loop hooked designs – Cloud People, Cupcakes, Hearts, Lollipops, Rainbows and Stars.
The Hable Construction line also contains a braided design inspired by a vintage rug that Susan and Katharine’s grandmother Mimi in Texas had during their childhood. Creating a contemporary version of this one-of-a-kind braid was a dream come true for the sisters. All Hable braids complement the entire Hableland collection and are proudly made in the USA. Offerings include:
- Hableland Round is available in six colorways and three sizes: 3′ round, 5′ round and 7′ round.
- Hableland Square is available in four colorways and three sizes: 3′ square, 5′ square and 7′ square.
- Hableland Basket is available in 10 colorways and three sizes: 12″, 16″ and 20″.
- Hableland Crochet, a unique take on the traditional braid, is available in light grey and cream and 3′ and 5′ sizes.
Following their success in High Point, the Hable sisters are already designing additional styles including hand knotted rugs in a more mature color palette. These new rugs will be launched during the April High Point Market, April 5-10, 2014.
